Feeding of not full-term children

Feeding childrenFeeding of not full-term child during the period newborn has exclusively great value. This problem difficult enough because at such children endurance to nutrition is lowered. Besides, newborns with a deep prematurity not only cannot take a breast, but also suck from a small bottle or a pipette owing to immaturity of a sucking reflex. Difficulty consists and that along with the lowered endurance to nutrition there is a raised requirement for it. Such child with initial weight in 1800 h doubles the weight by 3 months, and by 6 months triples it. Rapid growth of these children demands some much more fibers and mineral salts.

If the child takes a breast it put to a breast. As children quickly get tired at a suction, they should be put to a breast from 3 to 5 times a day; then to finish feeding the decanted maternal milk from a small bottle, from a spoon, from a pipette. If the child cannot suck, him feed from a spoon, from a pipette or through a catheter which should be entered only through a mouth of 6-7 times a day. At feeding of not full-term child it is necessary to pass gradually from one way to another, more natural: from a spoon to a pipette, then to a dummy. At occurrence of good sucking movements it is possible to put the child to a breast.

At a disadvantage of thoracal milk at mother the best doctor are: the decanted donor thoracal milk, divorced kefir, milk admixtures. At a bad increase of weight usually admixtures enrich albuminous preparations: 2-4 % of the cottage cheese wiped some times (1/2 - 1 h. A spoon on a small bottle). For drink give boiled water, 5 % a glucose solution. A cream of wheat and vegetables (in the form of mashed potatoes) usually start to give from 4 months of a life. Porridge is prepared in the beginning by 5 %. With implications of an exudative diathesis it is useful for children semolina boil soft not on water, and on a vegetable broth, and then to add milk and to give boil thoroughly 2-3 times.

Since 5th month it is possible to add a diet with a yolk. It is recommended to give a yolk in a boiled kind on 1/4 - 1/2 h. Spoons (to add in porridge).

The first feeding of not full-term newborn can be begun through 6-8 h after a birth.

A.F.Tur recommends the following scheme of feeding within the first week of a life: at initial weight of the child to 1000 g — 10-15 feedings for days; at weight of the child from 1000 to 1500 g — 10-12 feedings for days; at weight 1500-2000 g — 8-11 feedings and at weight 2000-2500 g — 7-8 feedings.
